However, the platform did not yet support major Philippine banks for online banking transfers. Solution that was implemented
PayMongo partnered with Brankas to integrate Brankas Direct, enabling merchants to accept payments directly from three of the Philippines’ largest banks—BDO, Metrobank, and Landbank. This integration allows PayMongo merchants, including eCommerce stores, food delivery services, ride-hailing apps, and gaming platforms, to offer a secure and fast pay-by-bank option, enhancing customers' overall payment experience.
The integration was designed to be flexible and easily implementable across multiple platforms, including Shopify, PayMongo’s Custom & Checkout API, PayMongo Pages, and PayMongo Links. For custom API users, minimal updates are required, ensuring merchants can quickly enable this new option and expand their reach to a broader customer base.
